In 2010, Christian Deon Dean became the artist known as simply Vee, but the path to his new identity was a complicated one.   The journey began on the crime infested streets of Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Christian Deon learned at an early age that life can be hard and unforgiving.   He credits his Mother for having the courage and the fortitude to get him and his family out of Grand Rapids and make the move to Phoenix, Arizona when he was 12 years old, in search of a better life.

"My Mother knew that if she didn't get me out of Grand Rapids, I may not make it through my childhood," Vee explains.   "The streets where I grew up were full of drugs, gangs, and violence.  It took a long time for me to get the old neighborhood out of my system, even after we moved to Phoenix.   All I knew was the street hustle".   Vee had numerous bouts with the law as a juvenile.  His delinquency came to a head when he was arrested as an adult for drug dealing at the age of 19.   That was the day of reckoning for Vee.  He had a choice of doing serious prison time, or get out of the drug game for good.   Vee chose the latter, and pledged to put his heart and soul into his first love, making music.   "I started creating songs in a cardboard box, and later, a closet at a friend's house, before I ever knew what a recording studio looked like.  I'll always remember where I came from, and what it took to get me to where I am today.  Hip Hop saved my life."

Vee's music is full of his real life experiences and stories that the artist hopes will influence others to do something positive with their lives, as he chose to do.   Lyrics come naturally to the mind and lips of Vee.   He composes all of his songs, but remarkably, never writes down lyrics.  Vee describes his unique way of composing as "laying down a track in my head."   "Some might call it 'free-styling', but what I come up with are complete thoughts with purpose and direction.   I like to just go into the studio, turn on the mic, and lay it down."  It's more natural and passionate that way."    Over 200 original compositions are archived in Vee's head waiting for the command to "lay it down."

In April of 2010, Vee left the boxes and the closets behind when he signed a recording deal with the Hobo Music Group (HMG), a Phoenix based operation.   HMG was created, in large part, because of the conviction for Vee and the belief that he is destined for worldwide greatness by the founding members of the group.   Vee is the first artist to be signed to the HMG label.  HMG will launch the Vee movement with the digital release of a powerful first single and video entitled  "Get Away".    The single was produced by veteran music wizard Vocaine and mixed by legendary producer Jack Joseph Puig.  "Vee is a true artist.  I have had the great fortune of working with a few icons in my career, and I believe that Vee is going to be added to my list of iconic artists", lauded Jack Joseph.   HMG plans to release the debut album by Vee in the spring of 2011.
